AI for law firms that never sends client files anywhere
Local Keep AI runs the model on your own machine. With a local model, your prompts and documents are never transmitted to us or to anyone else — and you can prove it by pulling the network cable.
The problem with putting client work into a chatbot
A hosted assistant answers by sending your text to someone else's server. For a draft brief, a client memo, or a discovery document, that is a disclosure to a third party — one you have to be able to describe to your client, your carrier, and your bar. Most firms resolve that by forbidding the tool outright, which means the work simply does not get the help.
What Local Keep AI does differently
When you use a local model, the model file lives on your machine and the answer is computed there. Your prompt, the document you pasted, and the response are never transmitted to Local Keep AI or to any third party. Turn your Wi-Fi off and it still answers — which is the demonstration worth doing before you trust any claim on this page.
•
Local models run on your own hardware. Nothing about the prompt leaves the device.
•
No training on your data. Your documents are never used to improve any model.
•
Works fully offline, so you can verify the claim yourself by disconnecting.
•
Runs on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, and from the command line.
Where the line actually is
If you choose a cloud-hosted model, that request must leave your machine to be answered — that is what makes it a cloud model. Local Keep AI never attaches your user ID, email or session identifiers, so the provider cannot tell who asked — but the text itself is sent exactly as written, and we do not filter it. For client-confidential work, use a local model. The picker labels every model as local or cloud, so the choice is explicit rather than accidental.
Local Keep AI is a tool, not a compliance programme. We do not certify that any particular use satisfies your jurisdiction's confidentiality rules, and we do not offer that as legal advice. What we can tell you precisely is where your data goes, which is what your own assessment needs.
What firms use it for
•
Summarising a long document without uploading it anywhere.
•
Drafting and redrafting correspondence against a matter file held locally.
•
Reviewing a contract clause by clause on a machine that is offline.
•
Searching and explaining your own precedent bank without indexing it in someone else's cloud.
Try the part that matters first
Install it, pick a local model, disconnect from the network, and ask it something about a document on your disk. If it answers, the claim on this page is true on your own hardware and you have verified it without taking anyone's word. The free plan runs local models at no charge and does not ask for a card.
