Requires VS Code 1.85 or newer.
Install the CLI first
No integration bundles the CLI — each one shells out to it. If lk is not installed and signed in, the integration installs cleanly and then does nothing, which is a confusing way to fail.

Install VS Code
•
Open the Extensions view (Cmd+Shift+X / Ctrl+Shift+X)
•
Search for "Local Keep AI" and press Install
•
Or from a terminal: code --install-extension LocalKeepAI.local-keep-ai
Using it
•
Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P → “Local Keep AI: Chat” opens the panel
•
Select code, then “Local Keep AI: Edit Selection” to rewrite it in place
•
The panel shares its session with the terminal — lk run and the sidebar see the same conversation
Where to get it
Prefer the registry listing where one exists: it self-updates and your editor's own extension browser expects it. The repository is the fallback and the place to read the source.
